Worried about a Hedgehog?

If you are ever worried about the health or welfare of a hedgehog, please call the British Hedgehog Preservation Society on 01584 890801 and they will be able to give you advice, and put you in touch with a local rescue centre if necessary.

We’re delighted to welcome what we believe are the first baby hedgehogs born in Glatton in 2026.

This tiny bundle of hoglets was discovered tucked safely into the corner of a garage. We think there are at least five, with Mum regularly scurrying in and out as she gathers food for her hungry little ones.

Please also let this be a gentle reminder to take extra care in our gardens, garages and other outbuildings. When moving things, clearing spaces or getting ready to do some gardening, please check that there isn’t a little family tucked away somewhere safe. We really don’t want to disturb them — or worse, accidentally injure them.

A lovely reminder of how well our village is supporting local wildlife.
