Seed eating hog

This week we have had a new hog visiting in the late afternoon. S/he spends some time beneath the bird feeders hoovering up the bird seed. It’s a very small hog, possibly a youngster and very recogonisable as it has a pale “skirt” about an inch wide below the spikes. I wondered if it could be one of Carole’s last year’s brood. S/he certainly likes food as it also visited the feed box in the back garden for about an hour last night. Has anyone else seen this hog?

Sue, this might be the first sighting of one of this year’s babies. I will keep an eye open for a very small hog. I think my babies from last year will have grown on. How exciting, perhaps a new 2019 generation.
