We have had the trail cam out to capture the Nicholson hedgehogs, but for a couple of days did not capture anything.
Having looked at the camera I think that it was due to the heatwave we had over the last few days as the camera registered temperatures (inside the camera) of 53 °C!
I suspect this high temperature level may have interfered with its ability to detect movement. Since the temperature has dropped we have some footage :-).

May 10, 2018 at 09:23Paul, I am wondering if this is why my two hedgehogs were so distressed I had to let them go early. Would seem a reasonable assumption.

May 10, 2018 at 09:40Yes possibly, but they are obviously happy enough because at least one of them has come home :-).
Maybe we should set the camera up to monitor them coming and going?
